Guzman y Gomez Drive-Through — Baringa

Full civil engineering package for a new GYG drive-through restaurant on the Sunshine Coast, from feasibility through to construction certification.

The Challenge

The Baringa site presented a complex drainage catchment with significant overland flow constraints from the adjacent residential estate. Council required detailed stormwater modelling and a full water quality treatment train.

Our Solution

We developed a 2D hydraulic model to quantify flood impacts and designed an integrated stormwater management system including bio-retention and gross pollutant traps. The car park and drive-through geometry was optimised across 14 design iterations to satisfy both the client's brand standards and council engineering requirements.

Outcomes

• DA approved within first submission
• Zero drainage-related non-conformances during construction
• Stormwater system exceeded water quality targets by 15%
